Horse Riding

The only National Trail to include a bridleway, which is open to horse riders and cyclists.

From short hacks around the countryside to epic South Downs Way challenges, you’ll find plenty of inviting paths to explore. If you embark on a section of the South Downs Way, please remember to stick to the bridleway sections, as these are designated for you and cyclists.

Experienced riders will find plenty of challenging terrain along the South Downs Way. While the majority of the route is off-road, there are points where you will need to cross busy roads.
