There are many historic sites in the area and the countryside, with its contrasting gently undulating downs and uncompromising white cliffs, can be explored on foot or by bicycle or car.
The Cuckoo Trail and Cuckmere Haven have easy access for pushchairs and wheelchairs. You can also take a boat trip around Beachy Head Lighthouse in the summer
Fishing and sailing are popular with visitors and there are cycles for hire, whilst Beachy Head is a must for walkers. There are many pretty villages to explore with good pubs, including our own village pub, the Tiger Inn, together with shops and restaurants. Alfriston with its popular Drusilla’s Zoo, antique shops and tearooms is approximately 4 miles away to the west.
The towns of Lewes and Brighton are a short distance away and London is only 90 minutes by the regular train service from Eastbourne, a town that is buzzing, with restaurants, shops, the wonderful pier, gyms, tennis and cinemas. The family attraction of Drusillas Zoo is 5 miles away to the East. Firle Place, Michelham Priory and the opera at Glyndebourne are 25 minutes away by car.
