What's on in Eastbourne April - June 2014

257There is a great deal going on this Spring right on our doorstep.   The Eastbourne Arts Festival takes place 19 April – 11 May 2014, offering a full programme of events including concerts, theatre performances, art exhibitions and artists’ Open Houses.  www.eastbournefestival.co.uk

The Towner Gallery is holding exhibitions such as United Visual Artists 18 April – 22 June, which explores different ways of creating a structure from light.  There are also talks by artists and behind the scenes tours.  As well as Easter Holiday Workshops, there are free family drop-in days every Saturday and Sunday and weekdays during the school holidays, where families are provided with art materials and encouraged to be creative.  www.townereastbourne.org.uk

There is a full programme of events at Eastbourne’s four theatres.  Highlights include:  “Singing in the Rain” at the Congress Theatre 8 – 19 April; “The Sooty Show” at the Devonshire Park Theatre on 17 April; Showaddywaddy in Concert  at the Royal Hippodrome on 25 April; a performance by the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the Congress Theatre on 27 April; The Pirates of Penzance (Eastbourne Gilbert and Sullivan Society) at the Devonshire Park Theatre 6 – 10 May; Fiddler on the Roof at the Congress Theatre 6 – 10 May; Cats at the Congress Theatre 20 – 31 May; plus regular Tea Dances and the Screaming Blue Murder Comedy Club, both at the Winter Garden Floral Hall. www.eastbournetheatres.co.uk
