Kids’ corner
From the simple pleasures of rock pooling at Birling Gap, to spine-tingling ghost walks and action-packed canoeing around Cuckmere Haven, there’s plenty to entertain kids of all ages (and their parents!).
Sheep Centre (and play area)
Watch lambs being born in spring and shorn in summer. There are also plenty of young farm animals to see, touch and cuddle, as well as a play area. The Sheep Centre is under cover, so makes a great day out come rain or shine.
Visit the Sheep Centre website.
Smuggler and ghost walks
Enjoy a guided walk around Beachy Head and be enthralled by tales of ghosts and smugglers. Designed to charm adults and children alike, the walks include a picture treasure hunt and a small prize for younger smugglers and ghost hunters.
Canoeing
Enjoy the gentle pace of the Meanders before moving into the faster-flowing water of Cuckmere River. Contact the Seven Sisters Canoe Centre for more information.
Rock Pooling
Bring your wellies, buckets and spades and look for hermit crabs, barnacles, shrimps, snails and limpets!
Fossil hunting
Eagle-eyed fossil hunters can seek the ancient remains of creatures including ammonites, nautili and echinoids.
