Located in a lovely grade two listed barn alongside the beautiful green in the village of East Dean, on the South Downs Way, the Hikers Rest is the perfect stop off for coffee, cake, brunch, or a light lunch. We have worked with a local coffee roaster, Liquid Spirit, to create a blend that you can only find in the cafe.

We also offer a wonderful selection of artisan gelato flavours, a delightful post walk treat. We have outdoor seating on the village green and a private terrace, which overlooks our edible garden. We use what we grow in a changing variety of seasonal specials. We are open all year-round providing a warm welcome for the local community, walkers and visitors to Beachy Head and Burling Gap. There is plenty of free parking only meters away and the cafe is fully accessible with a large indoor space.

 

Hiker’s Rest opening times:

Monday to Sunday 9.30am – 4:30pm

 

We are open on Bank Holiday Mondays, but we are closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Car parking is available off Village Green Lane and we have disabled access to the tea room and toilets.
