Four pubs in Sussex made the list of the best seaside pubs in the country.
These were The Albion in Hastings, The Tiger Inn in East Dean, The Crown and Anchor in Chichester and The Anchor Bleu in Bosham.
The Albion was described as a place for a “cosy afternoon” with the Daily Mail writer saying: “I have rarely been so pleased to get inside a pub as I was then – a cosy afternoon ensued.”
The Tiger Inn can be found in the South Downs, perched in what the Mail describes as “the finest beach for miles, Birling Gap”.
It adds: “The village is flint cottage perfection and the pub, said to date from the 12th century, is wonderfully cosy with local Harvey’s on tap.”
The Mail described Bosham as “one of the prettiest and most historic villages in the south-east”.
It added that The Anchor Bleu was a “nicely run pub” and “certainly worth the trip”.
