Fig Cottage

Peace and quiet from £485

Sleeps 4

Newly-built flint cottage inside the secluded walls of a recently-restored Georgian walled garden. Enjoy the peace, quiet and the magic of this working garden, which has been carefully recreated to match historic depictions of the garden. The high flint walls surrounding the garden provide privacy and shelter from the wind, while trapping in warmth and sunlight.

Sleeps 4 in one double bedroom (en-suite) and one smaller bedroom with two single beds and a separate bathroom.

Finished to a remarkable standard, the cottage is designed to make your stay effortless and relaxing. Beds are coil-sprung with Egyptian cotton sheets, and fresh towels are provided for you.

The open-plan cottage is ideal for spending time with friends and family, and makes a great base from which to explore the area. You can start your walks directly from your cottage, without the need to drive.

You can also relax on your own terrace area or meander the garden looking for a tasty addition to your cooking.

All the Beachy Head cottages, which are 18th century listed farm buildings, have been given 4 stars by Quality in Tourism and have achieved a Gold Award as part of the Green Tourism Business scheme, for quality and the efforts we make to improve and protect the local environment.  Why not take a look at our other cottages?

A great spot all year round

This cottage is in a fabulous location for a quiet relaxing getaway all year round.  If you don’t feel like cooking you can enjoy great local food around the village green or feel cosy by the fire inside the Tiger Inn.

Don’t miss some great walks with stunning scenery throughout the seasons. There are circular walks and longer routes starting close to your door.

We are just a short drive from many activities, local attractions, exhibitions and sporting events too.

The holiday cottages are a perfect base for visiting friends and family for weddings, celebrations and seasonal gatherings. We provide beautifully decorated Christmas trees in December!

Reviews

“Thank you so much for an absolutely wonderful stay in this delightful cottage. We shall definitely come back. We greatly enjoyed everything, including the home made cake.”

“Wonderful cottage in beautiful countryside. Couldn’t be better.”

The following guest feedback was recently posted on Alastair Sawday’s Special Places to Stay:
“We stayed in Fig Cottage which was ample size for four people. The cottage was well decorated, clean and well laid out. The kitchen was well equipped. This is a great location, the garden is lovely and we had a table and chairs on our patio for dining outside to admire the view. I would highly recommend these cottages to anyone wanting to stay in this part of East Sussex. The village is pretty and there is a good pub and excellent deli cum café in the village.”

“Simply love the Cottages, the decor, the warmth and the view of the lovely restored Walled Garden.”

“Absolutely lovely setting – Cottages harmony with the Walled Garden. Utterly relaxing landscape, almost unreal, idyllic structure, lovely memories to take away.”
